Sierra Ayonnie

I started off as a writer around the age of 8 years old when I would take advantage of any computer that had Microsoft Word installed on it. I began to create stories, poetry, and write philosophical essays. By the time I was 13 I had read all of the classic writers and my understanding of the English language excelled so much that I learned Spanish in order to study multicultural literature. At 14, I was writing college leveled essays for all kinds of people around me which included the average student and the working adult.

By the age of 18, I began my studies on media, digital art, marketing, and networking. When I turned 20, I created my own degree, Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Creative Writing and Psychology, mastered a third language, Italian, and began to lead in multiple organizations. At 21, I self-published my first novel,  FIGS Book 1: Planet Tun. But, I’m not done yet… I’m still loading.

I like to think of myself as the daughter of Octavia Butler and George Orwell, in that, I love to create speculative fiction that ponders the questions of the universe while giving a unique experience with my words as I take my main characters on thrilling adventures.

On Essays, there are posts published on a day to day basis onto the blog, there are featured authors whose work she has credited (if you send a link to your work she doesn’t mind featuring you), entertainment pieces, and commentary on recent events.

This is a blog used to support other writers, share thoughts about the daily experience, and challenge your beliefs. Essays always has a way of finding new readers that are committed to commenting on the work that has been published, so don’t be afraid to converse. It is community driven and change is made through the many voices who advocate for a difference through the craft of writing.
